In a statement, the Bolivarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that “this type of practice, which generates violence, deaths and destruction, also causes panic and confusion among the defenseless civilian population”.
On the other hand, Venezuela called for non-complicity with international silence stating that this action “only feeds the pretensions of those who want to unleash a dangerous escalation of violence with unimaginable consequences in the region”.
“The Bolivarian Government expresses its sincere feelings of closeness to the Lebanese people and government for this regrettable event, while expressing a message of encouragement and solidarity to the families of the victims and wounded,” states the note.
Finally, the Bolivarian Republic reiterated its confidence in the promotion of genuine dialogue as a fundamental tool for the maintenance of peace and the well-being of nations.
The attacks condemned by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela left at least 12 people dead and 2,800 wounded, including the Most Honourable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran accredited to the Lebanese Republic H.E. Mojtaba Amani.
The attack was carried out by means of personal pagers, which were simultaneously detonated in areas of Beirut, the Lebanese capital.
